Event Details
Terrace Hill will host an informational coffee for potential new volunteers on Monday, June 17, from 8:30 to 9:30 am in the Dining Room of Terrace Hill. We welcome you to attend if you are interested in learning more about volunteering at Terrace Hill.
To attend, please RSVP by Friday, June 14 to barbara.willey@governor.iowa.gov or call 515-281-7205.
The following are some of the ways volunteers contribute at Terrace Hill:
Docent (Tour Guide) - Tours of Terrace Hill are offered March through December, Tuesday through Saturday, at 10:30 am and 12:00 pm. Docents should enjoy working with people of all ages, have good public speaking skills, and be willing to learn about the history of Terrace Hill along with the details of the Residence's architecture and interior collection. A docent must also be able to walk and stand comfortably.
Kitchen & Special Event Volunteers - Volunteers for special events assist the Terrace Hill Chef with receptions, special dinners, and the Mother’s Day and Christmas Teas. They help set-up, serve, and clean-up following the event. Volunteers must be able to walk and stand comfortably and be able to go up and down stairs.
We look forward to speaking with you on June 17th!
