Guided Tours of Terrace Hill, Iowa Governor’s Residence & National Historic Landmark

What to Expect During Your Terrace Hill Tour

Tours begin in the carriage house and last one hour. The carriage house originally contained horse stalls and carriages. Now it has been renovated into a visitor’s center, museum, and gift shop. Tours begin with a 15-minute introductory video and then proceed to the residence with a Terrace Hill docent. During the guided tour, guests will see the carriage house, the first and second floors of the residence, and the historic gardens.

All visitors at Terrace Hill must be with a guided tour; no self-guided tours are permitted.
